Banksia robur 'Green Giant'

Banksia robur 'Green Giant' is a cutting grown selection of this popular Banksia commonly known as 'Swamp Banksia' owing to its being able to survive wet conditions, selected for its giant 25 to 30cm flowers. Large serrated leaves are offset with velvety bronze new growth. It naturally occurs in damp areas on sandy soils, but is very adaptable to a wide range of conditions and soils. It needs full sun for best flowering, but will grow in part shade. Growing 2 -3m it forms a bushy shrub with branches sprouting from the base. Frost hardy once established. Prune to shape after flowering attracts honeyeaters and bees.
